Coppell wins Tal Atkins Memorial Tournament

Congratulations to Coppell, who placed first at the Tal Atkins Memorial Quiz Bowl Tournament held at Caddo Magnet High School. C.E. Byrd A placed second, followed by West Monroe A and Dutchtown A. Early 2017-18 Quiz Bowl Tournaments

The 2017-18 Quiz Bowl season starts off with several early tournaments. Caddo Magnet High School will be hosting its Tal Atkins Quiz Bowl Tournament on September 9th in Shreveport. Click here to register for the tournament using the NAQT registration system. If you have not created an account there, you will need to do so to register for a tournament. Summer Board Meeting

The Louisiana Quiz Bowl Association (LQBA) would like to begin updating next year’s tournament schedule as soon as possible. If you are interested in hosting a tournament at your school, but don’t know where to start, please let us know! We would love to help you get started! Hosting a tournament is a great opportunity for your team to fundraise so you can participate in other quiz bowl events. If you have already scheduled a tournament for next year, please send that information to board@laquizbowl.org. We want to coordinate with tournaments across the state to maximize the number of tournaments available to students. Results from SSNCT in Chicago

Three schools from Louisiana participated at SSNCT in Chicago at the end of April: North Caddo (Traditional Public), St. Martin's Episcopal (Charter/Private), and Episcopal School of Acadiana (Charter/Private). St. Martin's placed third while ESA placed 6th in the Charter/Private division. Bryce Monier from St. Martin's and Sam Hebert from ESA were the top 2 individual scorers in their division!
