LQBA State Championship Results

28 teams competed in the LQBA's inaugural state championship tournament on March 25 on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. The teams competed in two divisions, I and II, according to school size. 35 volunteers facilitated the event which included 4 morning rounds, a pizza lunch provided by LQBA, and 3 afternoon rounds to finally determine the top 3 finishers in each division. At the conclusion, those six championship teams as well as the top 6 single players in each division, were recognized with trophies and medallions. In division I, Jesuit finished first with a perfect 7-0 record. Caddo Magnet finished second at 6-1, while Baton Rouge Magnet finished third at 5-2. Lusher Invitational Scheduled for March 4th

On March 4, 2017 Lusher Charter School (5624 Freret St, New Orleans, LA 70115) in New Orleans will host a spring invitational quiz bowl event at its uptown campus. The tournament will include a morning round robin to determine seeding, and an afternoon round robin based upon those seeds.Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams and there is a possibility of a separate JV bracket if there is interest. This tournament will use questions from NAQT IS-164. The entry fee for this tournament is $60 per team with a $10 discount available for bringing a fully functional buzzer lockout system. Crescent City Invitational Scheduled for March 19th

Mount Carmel Academy is proud to invite all high school quiz bowl teams to attend the Crescent City Invitational on Saturday, March 18th at its Lakeview campus (7027 Milne Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). To register please email tournament director Kevin Marshall. The tournament will feature Varsity and JV brackets. The JV division will be for students in 10th grade or below. The tournament will be in a round-robin format, with re-bracketing for playoffs if necessary. The tournament will be 20/20 format on NAQT IS-165A.
